KIDS WINTER ART PROJECTS

4 CLASSES | Nov 8, 15, 29 & DEC 6 (NO CLASS NOV 22)

This textile project will get students thinking about colour, shape, texture and pattern. Kids will be utilizing yarn and fabric glue to create a collection of feathers that can be used in dream catchers, wall hangings or as a gift to a special friend.
WATER COLOUR AND INK
In this class students will get to play with water colours and inks. We will use a variety of techniques and explore how to move, layer and mix colours. Kids will create a series of abstract water colour- ink cards and gift tags.
SUPER DUPER SCULPTEY
This introductory class will give students the opportunity to learn how to work with polymer clay. Kids will have the chance to use the techniques learned in class to create a small keychain character.
FABRIC BLOCK PRINTING
In this class students will learn the technique of block printing and create eco friendly gift wrap. Kids will have the opportunity to create and test a variety of paints and stamps, and observe how they work on different material surfaces.
INSTRUCTOR | JENNIFER JACOBY- HVINGELBY
Jennifer is a multimedia artist who is based in Calgary and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Arts, and Masters of Environmental Design from The University of Calgary.
Her work ranges in materials from paint and print to paper-cut collage to glass and small sculpture.
She continues to work with the CBE with their Artist and Residence program and has taught children and adult classes throughout Calgary and surrounding area. The last few years Jennifer has worked with local maker groups to help elevate YYC artists, and create affordable work spaces in Calgary.
