Join artist Sharon Lynn Williams in a 2 Day Watercolour Workshop focused on achieving colour harmony and embracing a loose, more relaxed watercolour approach.
Students will learn how to create value sketches receiving instructor feedback on how simplifying a composition, paying attention to shapes and light all play a role in clarifying the artist's intent and establishing an overall mood to your finished watercolours.
Students will be guided through how to effectively use expressive colour and brushwork. The instructor will demonstrate how to achieve luminous colour using a using a variety of edges, and 'puddling' of paint.
The key to 'loosening up' in watercolour while still assuring a good outcome stems from careful advance planning and then spontaneous paint application.
Artists at different abilities will benefit from taking this workshop.

SHARON LYNN WILLIAMS
Sharon Lynn Williams lives, paints and teaches in Calgary, and is a signature member of both the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA) and International Plein Air Painters (IPAP). She has been happily exploring diverse painting media for over 35 years, and her mantra is “What would happen if…” Her creativity has led to mastery in watercolour, acrylic, oils, collage, and encaustic. Sharon enjoys working with bold colour, line and texture. Her work is informed by the landscapes that she paints en plein air in oil, her passion for gardening and love of the human figure. Sharon's interpretations of the beauty around her, as well as her vivid imagination make for an eclectic and varied body of work
